While the initial sketch and photos of the ring from Green Lake Jewelry seemed promising, the actual ring itself left me greatly disappointed. Despite the beautiful appearance of enlarged photos and ideal lighting, the reality was far from satisfying. The floral design on the band was positioned at the very edge of the ring, leaving inadequate space for the small 1.25 mm pink sapphires we had discussed. As a result, the stones ended up being the size of grains of sand, barely visible. The designers assurances that the ring would match the photos didnt hold up in reality. The stones were far too tiny for the scale of the ring. After waiting for three months, the outcome was disheartening. Although they offered to remake the ring, I have reservations about their ability to get it right and deliver promptly, given my interactions with the designer via email.

The swift service provided allowed us to have the rings in hand for a visit with my family, and we were genuinely pleased with the entire process.
However, a significant twist occurred before our wedding – I misplaced my ring. Our initial point of contact, the jeweler, had departed, and Sean stepped in as our new liaison. He assured us that the replacement would take approximately five weeks, a timeline that we found acceptable. Eager to expedite the process, we initiated the down payment and shared the design sketches, supplementing the existing records on Green Lake Jewelrys website and in their archives.
Regrettably, the process didnt proceed as expected. When we reached out at the five-week mark to inquire about the progress, we discovered that the work hadnt even commenced. This revelation was coupled with uncertainty about the accurate design, a perplexing oversight considering the available information. The subsequent correspondence became a cycle of us initiating contact to ensure accuracy, with little proactive effort from the companys side. Ultimately, it took a series of exchanges to align the design and lead to a 10-week turnaround time.
This elongated period of uncertainty cast a shadow over our ability to have the ring in time for our wedding, despite having communicated the date from the outset. Our interaction with the jeweler, Sean, proved exasperating due to the communication lapses and the drawn-out timeline. While the final product met our quality expectations, the overall journey was marked by unexpected frustration. Although we might consider revisiting Green Lake Jewelry in the future, its evident that a different jeweler would be preferable based on our experience.

What an amazing experience working with Ellen and the entire Green Lake Jewelry team. It all started with a simple concept of a beautiful halo engagement ring, show casing a gorgeous diamond sitting on top of a beautiful infinity symbol to bring the entire ring together based on our forever love for one another. From Ellen’s first sketches, to the 3D CAD drawings, to the wax moldings, casting, and finish product, I could see the entire ring come to life. The guidance and communication was terrific and made the entire custom design process a lot of fun and stress free. The weekly app updates through the process eased my stress about the final product. The team did a great job hitting the timeline (approx. 2 months) so I could pull off my proposal in Maui during our vacation. I couldn’t be happier with the overall quality and beauty of the final custom engagement ring. Best of all she said “YES”!
